Originally from Fort Defiance, AZ, by way of White Cone, Arizona, located on the Navajo Nation, Ryan Allison AKA DIrt Rhodes grew up surrounded by country music. In his words, "country music stories are so vivid, and specific to the listener, which is why I think my people, the Diné, have identified with country music. They are storytellers."
